Preparing for your procedure
Your anesthesiologist will take into consideration prior surgeries, review your medical history, do a very brief physical exam and discuss the anesthetic you will receive. This is an excellent time to ask questions.
Augusta Health’s anesthesiologists are medical doctors certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology. We work closely with your provider team to ensure safe, pain-free surgery and to minimize discomfort post-procedure.

Your anesthesiologist will tailor the anesthetic to your particular medical issues and accommodate your preferences when possible. However, it is important to know, certain techniques may be more suitable for your procedure than others.
Please follow any preoperative instructions, especially about medication intake and abstaining from food and drinks. These instructions are for your safety and if not followed your surgery may be postponed or cancelled.
