In 1995 Hospice of the Shenandoah merged with AMC to expand the scope of service. In 1996, we became licensed by the state of Virginia and in 1997, we became a Medicare/Medicaid certified Hospice agency & also became JCAHO accredited. In 2021, we became accredited by ACHC.

Testimonial
"Taking care of one’s loved ones is a daunting task, one where you feel truly alone sometimes."
“My family was very lucky when Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah was recommended to us. We suddenly became part of a team that advocated for my father’s care. When we had problems, they gave us solutions. When we didn’t know what to do, they educated us. When we needed someone to talk to, they were there. “Angels” and “heroes” are terms that unfortunately get used way too often, however if you’re ever fortunate enough to encounter any of the dozens of staff we’ve worked with in our time with hospice you will be amazed at their dedication, humility, and decency.”
