Augusta Health offers payment plan options to help you manage your resources.
Our Financial Assistance Program can be used towards services normally covered by insurance.
That could include:
- Hospital care
- Home health care
- Durable medical equipment
- Hospice care
- Visits to Augusta Medical Group physician offices and Urgent Care facilities
The Financial Assistance Program does not cover:
- Services for which other coverage, such as Medicaid, Medicare, or Workers’ Compensation may be available
- Services that are not considered emergent or medically necessary
- Medications received from Augusta Health pharmacy or take-home medications from the Emergency Dept.
- Visits to physician offices not affiliated with Augusta Health
- Services provided by independent contractor physicians and other service providers that are not employed by Augusta Health (such as Emergency Department Physicians)
Eligibility
Eligibility for financial assistance is based on the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Depending on the estimated gross household income, the number of eligible family members, and having no more than $15,000 in liquid assets, patients could receive either a 100% or 60% fee reduction.

To be eligible for financial assistance, patients must reside with the Augusta Health Service Area.
Uninsured patients will receive a 50% discount on total charges for medically necessary and emergency care they receive from Augusta Health (hospital) and a 35% discount from Augusta Medical Group (physician offices and Urgent Care facilities).
As a condition of eligibility, if it appears you may qualify for some other form of assistance (Medicare, Medicaid, employer-offered insurance, auto insurance, worker’s compensation, etc), you must first apply for that assistance.

PLAIN LANGUAGE SUMMARY
Consistent with its mission to provide high-quality health and wellness services for the community, Augusta Health and Augusta Medical Group are committed to providing free or discounted care to individuals who need emergency or medically necessary treatment and have an estimated gross annual household income at or below 400% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) Guidelines and have no more than $15,000 in liquid assets. Individuals who qualify for financial assistance will not be charged more than the average amounts generally billed (AGB) to commercially insured patients for emergency or medically necessary care. Augusta Health will not pursue collections actions against an individual without first using reasonable efforts to determine if such individual is eligible for financial assistance.
