A Pediatric Hospitalist is a board-certified physician who specializes in the care of hospitalized children. Augusta Health’s pediatric hospitalists care for children in different parts of our facility, including the pediatric floor, Labor and Delivery, the newborn nursery, and the Emergency Department. We provide care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (including holidays).
Your child’s pediatrician can check in and discuss care with your hospitalist at any time during your child’s stay. If your child has been seeing other doctors at Augusta Health or elsewhere, be sure to let your hospitalist know so we can keep them informed.
Follow up with your child’s pediatrician or other doctors soon after discharge. If you do not have a pediatrician, the hospitalist or other staff can provide you with options, or you can search our directory.
