Tests and Procedures
- Blood analysis – determines hormone levels
- Glucose test – screens for diabetes by measuring blood sugar
- A1C blood test – gauges how well diabetes is being managed
- Thyroid ultrasound – evaluates thyroid nodules and goiters
- Fine needle aspiration – treats thyroid nodules
- DEXA scan – determines bone density
Treatment could include the following:
Office Procedure (for diabetic patients)
Insert a sensor under the skin as part of a Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) system.
Medications
- Insulin or osteoporosis drug therapy
- Medicine to adjust thyroid hormone levels
- Hormone therapy (for men and women)
