Bio:
Dr. Patrick Greenwell is an Orthopedic and Adult Reconstructive (hip and knee replacement) specialist serving the patients of the Shenandoah Valley and its surrounding communities.

Dr. Greenwell entered the field of Orthopedics because of its inherent nature of quickly fixing a problem. Whether it be an acute bone fracture or a chronic disease like arthritis, Dr. Greenwell feels privileged to offer his patients a solution that can relieve them of their pain and get them back to doing the things they love the most. He finds the field of Adult Reconstruction very rewarding and loves hearing from his patients about their hip or knee replacement.

His specialty interests include hip and knee replacements, including cementless total knees as well as the direct anterior approach for total hips. He is dedicated to his patients throughout their entire course of care – from a surgeon-directed patient education clinic visit pre-operatively, to personal phone calls before and after the surgery, as well as personalizing their post-operative protocol to minimize pain and maximize movement/motion.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Greenwell enjoys spending time with his wife, Ariana (an ENT physician at UVA), and their son, Chase. In his free time, he also enjoys playing golf and tennis in the summer, as well as skiing in the winter.
