Across the United States — especially in rural areas like the Shenandoah Valley — there are shortages of providers and accessible healthcare facilities. Not only are there shortages, but more people aren’t able to reach doctor’s offices due to growing social and economic barriers. Over the last year, Augusta Health has worked to provide medical and primary care in people’s backyards. 

Augusta Health’s Clint Merritt, MD, Chief Physician Executive, and Krystal Moyers, Administrative Director of Community Outreach were featured on WHSV to talk about the work Augusta Health has done to address health equity issues, earning the hospital Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and American Hospital Association awards.
